Hey guys.. just thought I'd share this with y'all.
I was at the gym last week.. training leg. As I am doing my squats, this really tall and skinny guy walks in.. he has rubber bands on his knee caps. Don't ask me what they were for.. nothing close to wraps or that sort of knee protection. So anyways.. he goes over to the leg press machine.. and slaps on 6-45 pounds plates on each side.. he then proceeds to attempt a set (warm up if you can call it that). This guy goes down maybe 1/10th of the way down.. basically just bending his knee slightly. But he sure is groaning and making a scene as if he's Hercules!.. I just laughed to myself and continued with my squats.. with my ass down to the floor for full reps. So as you can guess.. this guy continues to add more plates because he must be some kind of a beast! lol! So I walk over finishing my squats to start into the leg presses.. as he is about to do his final set. I don't mention anything to him about his form because 99% of these guys think that they know all there is to know about bodybuilding and get really insulted when you try to aid them.. so I just leaned against the wall and watched him do his final set. Well at this point he was upto 12 plates on each side.. so this would be about aprox. 1,100 pounds. Not to brag but I can handle this weight with full reps and I was sooo tempted to do a set for him to show him how it's really done. Ok.. he sits down and starts his set.. once again.. microscopic range of motion!.. I was trying no to laugh.. his moaning was the best!.. anyways.. he is on his 4th rep.. and he decided to go a bit lower.. but then he get's stuck and can't psh it up!.. mind you he is only like 1/4 of the way down.. then suddenly thwe weight overcomes him and the weight comes all the way down!.. in a matter of seconds he became the human pretzel! haha.. he didn't seem to hurt himself but he was stuck!.. I was so tempted to just walk away and leave him there. But a bunch of us pushed the weight up and helped him out.. this guy was so embarassed.. he just took off the plates and walked out of the gym!..
anyways.. I hate idiots in the gym.. I hope they can all learn their lessons the way this guy did.
share your stories of these folks.. you know that there are a bunch of them in every gym.

I miss working out in a gym just for this reason. I'll never understand why guys just can't work to their limits. When I went to the Y around 12 years ago, I was only able to DB press 25#'s. That's it. I admit that I felt a little intimidated by the guys slamming huge weights, but when one of them told me that form was the most important thing, that really sank in.
My funniest story involved spotting a woman doing bench presses. When she was all finished with her set, she asked me if I was looking at her breasts. I hemmed and hawed a bit, then said yes, in fact I was looking at her breasts. I mean, how could I not? She got all upset about that, and she made such a stink about it, that I left the gym.
I think that's why I prefer to work out at home.

these individuals shopuld get free membership for being the daily entertainment. I like the girls who read while walking, bike and yes on the elliptical trainer. They must burn a whole 50 calories in an hour work out.
