Creatine observations – week one:
After taking CellTech for 7 days, I’ve noticed a few changes. #1 is that the taste isn’t as bad as it was on Day 1. Maybe I’m just getting used to it. I dilute two scoops to 24 ounces of water, with 2 servings on workout days, and one on off days. Other observations are perhaps more significant.
After being stuck for what has seemed like a year, I’ve finally been able to add some poundage and/or reps. For example – my best DB bench stalled at 5 reps with 50 pounders. I can now hammer out 12 reps with no problems. I may have to buy 55 pounders or set up some adjustable dumbbells. As it is, I’ve taken to wearing my wife’s ankle weights around my wrists to add weight. Since I do my entire workout at home (alone without a spotter), I have to improvise sometimes in the interest of safety. I have no idea what I can bench with barbell. I have a home CalGym universal type gym, and I can bench 12 reps at 85 pounds on that – but it’s not a true representation of free weights.
I can barbell curl 75 pounds now, up from 65. DB shoulder presses are up to 40 from 35. I’ve always been able to squat a decent amount, but I’m up from 220 to 240. I’m leg pressing around 300. I know this doesn’t sound like much to you heavy lifters, but I’ve always been the classic skinny guy. When I started with Freetrainers around 3 months ago, I was in decent shape at 165 pounds at 6’1” but I wanted to add some size.
My weight has now jumped from 175 pounds to 178 pounds in a week. My pants still fit fine, so the gains must be someplace else. This is a marked improvement for me – especially since I’m 47 years old.
All in all, I think the creatine has had a positive effect. I’ve experienced none of the side effects that they warn about (diarrhea, dehydration, cramps, jitters etc.), and I’m not as sore the next day after a hard workout. I will continue on the recommended program outlined by CellTech for 8 weeks, and let you know how it goes.
I also want to thank everyone who gave me advice about creatine and about training. Thanks!

You're so welcome Rick! Glad Cell-Tech is working out for you! You should continue to increase in weights weekly. I'm a hardgainer like you but I've seen some pretty dramatic weight increases (seems to continually increase weekly) in the past few weeks since using Cell-Tech.
Keep hydrated at all times and keep up the good work! Continue to keep us posted, okay?

Hi Rick, you don't know how happy I am to hear positive responds. Often we are just writing one letter after the other trying our best to answer and help, but nobody really gives us their results later on.
One thing I thought, when reading your letter and that is, often the achieved gains are not only because of the taken supplement, but also in the head. YOU made it work even better. This is no bad thing at all.
Great to know you're progressing and if other questions, no prob, we'll be ready to help!!!!

You're welcome. Since I work out alone at home, it's nice to get some "live" feedback.
I do realize that part of this is the "placebo" effect -- that some small part of the gains are because I'm psyched about it. No matter -- the more research I do on the subject, the more comfortable I am taking creatine.
Week two starts tomorrow.
