Hi Chan, welcome here.

You need to do lots of interval and what I call jump training (plyometrie). Lots of sprints and jumping in the fields outside. In the gym do the same thing using a treadmill and high steps (jump up with both legs in the same time). Doing jumping push ups and also jumping squats (with a very light barbell on your traps -get somebody next to you thou)

That's some of the exercises that'll work for you.

Good luck.

I used to teach Hapkido. What we used to do for strength and flexibility training are:

1) Light to medium weights - workout at least 3x per week
2) 1/2 hour per day of yoga (or just stretching)
3) 1-1/2 hours per day of punching bag and 1/2 hour of bean bag

Good luck to you and welcome here!

Welcome ChanDragon
Your flexibility will come in time with stretching trust me I teach Jiu-Jitsu and when I first started I wasn't verry limber now my students crindge for some of the positions I get in they look painful but my body is limber. For punches and kicks all I can say is Bag work and medium to light weight lifting. I have a friend that is into Kung Fu and I will ask him how he developed his hard kicks and punches.
Good luck in your training and your Class
Dave
