In the past two years i've put on about 30 pounds. I'm 6'6' and 245 pounds, i do the home exercise program and i was wondering if i did cardio along with my rountine would i still be able to keep the upper body mass i already have, or would i have to lift heavy to keep my upper body mass. Most of my body fat is through my torso area, my arms are kinda big with more muscle than fat. Also i was wondering cause my metabolism used to be pretty fast cause i've always been real slim cause i'm rather tall, and if i can get my body fat down do you think my energy and metabolism would come back to normal. Thank you if anyone replies

Eating 5-6 small meals will help with your metabolism and energy. Your change in metabolism may be due to age as much as your increased bodyfat! I would suggest you add some cardio to your routine as a 3-4 week "hardening phase". You may want to do it after your workout and/or on a non weight training day. I find if I spend 10-20 min on the treadmill to warm up and cooldown it keeps my bodyfat under control.But...we are all different. You should not effect your muscle mass if you keep your sessions under an hour. Another options is to alternate with shorter more intense sessions. During this phase you should make sure to get adequate protein and cut out all simple cards. If you do cardio on an empty stomach you may want to take some GH Factor and L Carnitine 20-30 min prior. (if in the budget if not keep the protein high throught the day) Hope this helps ! Keep me posted Leslie

Yes it is a proven fact that a lower body fat count helps to increase your energy and metabolism..just as long as you do it healthy. I use to have to lose weight for wrestling and I learned that the slower and more progressively that you lose the weight the better you feel. But whatever you do..Don't do fad diets!! You'll lose the weight and then gain it right back.

Actually it's not a lower body fat percent that helps to increase your energy and metabolism, it's the increased muscle mass..... Doing sport gives energy (and you sleep ten times better) you move around more easy and in total you feel a lot better.
That's the reason why some crazy people (like me!) get soooo easy addicted to sport.
