I know that there is no substitute for the old "sweat and burn no pain no gain" thing but do those electronic flex things that they advertise on TV do anything at all? Thanks CaptBilly

The only good thing about those monsters is that they can make you locate a specific muscle. This is needed when after an accident you need to rebuild or recover. Anything else is a waste of money.....

My son is hemiplegic, and at times his occupational therapist will use one to help stimulate his muscles to encourage their growth. SO, in a sense, they do work, by strengthening muscles that you can not use on your own, but as for regular active people, they will not help you tone up. The only thing that can do that is exercise!
