-Exactly what muscles are worked by lunges? Im to build muscle size and strength (mainly strength). Are lunges a good exercise to include in my leg workout?
-Also, i usually do leg press instead of squats, because it's easier on my knees and back. Should i include squats too, and just do a relatively light weight?
-Do straight leg deadlifts or regular deadlifts work your legs more?
Thanks for the help.

The very best exercise for your legs (and every bodybuilder will agree with this) is the squats..... For strength and mass this is the one. Lunges work excactly the same muscles as the squats but as you know to develop big nice muscles you need to do many different kinds of exercises.
Yes, you should include lunges in the work out for your legs.
Secondly, I cannot see you when you're doing squats, but make sure of doing the exercise correctly. Don't bend your kness too much and don't put the feet too far in front of you. Try to do the exercise without belt (when not taking too heavy) but if your back still hurts strengthen your abs and lower back (or go to the doc!).
Deadlifts are great for muscle mass. When straighten your legs you're stretching your muscles in the same time (always keep your back straight too thou!).

quads, hams, and glutes are worked by lunges. yes lunges are good to increase mass and strengh. squats are an essential exercise for your lower body. they totally help increase muscle size and strenght, but then again if it hurts your knees there are other exercises. however, you could just be performing the squats incorrectly.
