1.How important is it doing lighter warm up reps before doing your serious heavy ones?
2.Is it more beneficial to stretch after a work out as oppesed to before it?

Grizzle..
1. very important if you will be doing heavy ones. You want to send blood thorugh the muscle.. loosen it up.. or else you WILL have an injury sooner than later.
2. You should stretch before any workout with a 5-10 minute warm-up session. Stretch between sets as well as at the end of your workout. This gets rid of the built up lactic acid.

Great advice Arnold!! Grizzle.. The stretching will keep you from tightening up as well.

I also stretch just before bed and as soon as I wake up. If I don't stretch my legs before bed, I'm ususally in a whole lotta pain the next morning.

I am the first to admit that I don't stretch as well or as often as I should....and have been fortunate enough to bypass any serious injuries...you know..the thing is...is that it ONLY takes 5-10 minutes before and after workouts....that is nothing when you really think about it. The stretching before bed and in the AM sounds like a good idea, too.
Will start being more consistent today....
Thanks!

Talking about stretching. I think it would be great if this site suggested certain stretches to do b4 during and after the daily workout.I ..for one..never seem to do enough. It is so easy to exclude sufficient stretching when it isnt laid right out in front of me...
