OKAY help me please. I've really upped my weight all over on my body the last 2 months, and watched my diet carefully. Protein is still high, monitoring carbs.

Seriously, it's like it happened overnite, my thighs are SO tight in my pants, and all of them! They definitely have lots more muscle, but this is scaring me. This is the last thing I want big on me! I've been doing this for legs:

leg presses: starting at 180 / maxing out at 320 (6 reps)
straight leg deadlifts: starting at 70 / maxing out at 100 (6 reps)

I'm actually following the body for life and am eating lots of protein and and pretty disciplined for my diet. YIKES! Am I just at a conversion phase, where the fat's still there, the muscle is just building, or what?????? Help, I'm feeling really discouraged.

Also, shoudl I start cutting protein/carbs/calories? My approximate intake / day is 150 g protein, 1600 cals, carbs just low (don't count).

I've also seen that my arms are getting a bit bigger than I would ideally want for a female. Any counsel on diet/exercise?

Your calories seem a little low to me. The protein depending on what you weigh seem fine. You may want to do lighter weights and higher reps. It will cut you legs more and give you more definition. Hope this was some help. We need a little more information on you to be able to better assist you.

my thighs get big quick too. my friend and I last spring went thru that because we were lifting so much with our legs. I would lay off the weights for a while... just do lots of squats and lunges and LOTS Of stretching and yoga

Does the size of your, say thigh (or arm, etc.), get bigger first before getting smaller when you are in the process of building muscle and losing fat?

Or does it get bigger (or seem to get bigger) because you're building muscle below the fat??

Not sure if it's either or these explanations, or none at all...=)

You're building up muscles faster than you are loosing fat. That's quite normal in the beginning (good thing is that with more lean muscle mass your metabolism will be a lot faster so it'll be a lot easier to stay slim and good looking afterwards!).
Do you know your body fat %
I bet that when you'll loose more fat, your legs will get leaner as well.
Finally, now try changing the number of repetitions to 15-20 and use lighter resistance.
