Hi,

I was thinking about purchasing the Total Gym XL. Does anyone know whether this would be a good investment or not.

My husband uses it....and loves it. Myself, I used it a couple of times and got bored. I'm more of a gym person tho. (that's just my nature, I get bored easily). One of the parts broke and we emailed the company, their service was terrific!

I believe they have a recall going on for the total gym, exactly the reason Sandy Q states. One of the handles or something may break. Other than that, it actually is a very versatile piece of equipment. I had one lady who wanted me to train her only on it, so I did. You can do about anything, comes with a decent video, some "options" though you need to purchase separately. I am a gym person though myself. If you are new to training, this can work well for you. If you stay with it though, you will probably "outgrow" it and want a gym.
