Went to the chiro yesterday for an adjustment and felt great. My muscles must have been weak in the lower back because as I started my 3rd set of leg curls it went into spasm. I've had trouble in the past. I had to come home from work early today. Any suggestions??

Whan you're fully healed, start doing some straight-leg deadlifts with LIGHT WEIGHT. No need to throw on 255lbs to start. That will begin to strengthen your lower back a bit more. Back extensions are also good, but deadlifts are an all-around awesome excercise. Try working your lower back into your leg routine.

Forgot one thing: As always, make sure you use proper form and never overdo it. I hurt my knee when I was 17 (in high school) and I was told by my physical therapist to do squats and leg extensions regularly to build the muscles around it to preinjury condition. Same goes with your back. Hope the healing process is short and painless. Best of luck to you Coolness!

I suffer low back pain on a regular basis and see a Chiro 10-12 times a year. What helps me most is Stretching. (and avoiding certain exercises)Especially try stretching those hamstings, when they are tight it affects my low back. There is a great "old" book "Oh My Aching Back"

As with everything check it out with your Dr. first.......

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm "back" after a week off from training. It was pretty sore. It's an old injury from 20 years ago. Gotta be careful. My body probably needed the rest period anyway. Back to work!! :)
