I've always wondered this. I notice everybody in the gym is holding the hand rail of the treadmills. Is this okay to do? I normally swing my arms, unless of course I'm not having a good day, and hold with one hand and swing the other. Does it matter??

You will get a more complete workout if you engage your uper body so swing away.

When I first started using treadmills i hung on the handles, because I felt like I might fall. Once I got use to them I stoped holding them, I find it works much better.

Don't hold them, the only time to hold them is when you want your hr.

lol I never thought about that one but it's true!!!
It's the same with the stairmaster...... people tend to put half of their bodyweigth on the upper machine handles.......
Errr not a brilliant idea since you can get hurting neck problems and you'll loose half of the benefits of the work out!

Treadmill is one thing I just cannot do. I cannot run for more than 5 mins; reasons being - uneasiness, boredom & lack of determination. Is there any good alternative to tredmills? I am looking to reduce my lowerbody fat. Please help.
