hey all my name is travis anyways my question is im 5'9 290lbs. and 38 years old,
per golds stats 185lbs muscle 105lbs. fat im not too flabby and good strength do i wanna do light weights with plenty reps or heavy weights and few reps. i have always been confused on this fact. Am i wrong on my theory of have to lose all fat before lifting to gain muscle size?

You could try to periodize your training. One or two weeks light, then medium, then heavy. You don't have to but I seem to respond well to those kinds of changes. Or just roll with one of the free programs on this site. If you have 105 lbs of fat, that means that you're over 33% body fat, which is a bit high for men. My advice(being a former big guy myself) is to get a grip on proper dieting for weight loss, and take the fat off first. The muscles just look so much better when there's not a layer of fat on top of them.

thanks man the diet thing i noticed is the hardest i started using ab cuts gonna try the cytolean cycle, being in sc well its sweet tea and fried everything lol but i figure like u said do light weights and lot and lots of cardio thanks again
