Do you really need the extra protien in your diet if your about 30lb over weight. I want to increase my size but would like to lose the extra weight first, Or am I doing this wrong?

No you are not doing this wrong. You do need more protein if you are weight training, regardless of fitness level. You should incorporate cardio exercise at this time to. The combo of weights and cardio will help you move in the direction you wish to go. Good luck.

Actually the extra protein can also make your metabolism work faster and you'll be more able to burn fat.

Eat several small meals daily and make sure of getting some sort of proteins in every meal.
