I started going to the gym on a regular basis in December. I'm 19 6'2 204lbs and have an average build. My purpose of going to the gym was to gain muscle and burn fat. With university every day i sorta let the cardio fall in january but i'm starting to pick it up again now. The "consultants" at our gym have shown us how to use each machine properly and have basically told us that the thing to do is moderate to light weight 3 sets of 12-14 reps. Now that won't build bigger muscles will it? I thought you wanted to do moderate to heavy weight for 4 sets of 3 to 5 reps? and what is the best method of weight loss? My eating habits aernt the greatest...is it a good idea to see a nutritionist?

Sorry for my ignorance i'm just starting out with this stuff, and have to "learn the ropes" some how.

Thanx
