I was run over by a car about six months ago and I am now just starting to get back to normal life. I couldn't walk on one of my legs for a while and I still have a good deal of pain in one of my shoulders. I am grateful that I am alive, but after the accident, I weighted in at 280, this is way more than I have ever been in my life. The last time I was weighed I was down to about 273, but that is still way above what I was before he accident. What are some things that I can do that won't hurt my shoulder or leg? I'm worried about the health risks of being this heavy not to mention the fact that I look terrible! I feel tired all the time despite taking very good vitamins and eating decently, although with some of my meds I am not often hungry anymore. I do still eat a few times a day. How do I begin again?

What about aqua exercise? Even just starting by walking back and forth in the shallow end of the pool you can get some exercise without impact on your joints. As you rebuild your fitness level you can do more rigorous exercise in the pool as well.

Be sure to ask you doctor what you can and cannot do currently.

Start with little changes, try to make each meal as optimal nutritionally as you can, try to get some protein based snacks inbetween meals. drink plenty of water.

If your meds are affecting your appetite and energy, talk with your doctor about it - sometimes people react differently to drugs and a better choice may exist.
