im trying to tone my body out and lose some weight.I see that you should or most people do cardio 3 days a week. I was wondering if doing cardio (30 min run and 10 mins of jump rope) 6 days a week was like un healthy for some reason. I'm mostly doing this to get rid of my belly that I indured =/ after highschool. thanks for reading my post and please reply id love to here what everybody has to say.

Dustin - there is nothing wrong with doing cardio every day - but you will get better fat loss and "toning" resulst if you add in resistance training, in which case you don't need as much cardio.

Yes - work you abs so there is something to show once you get rid of the fat :)

Your biggest factor in fat loss, though, is going to be dietary changes.

When she says resistance training she means weight training. Simple exercises will be fine for you to start. Squats, Bench Press, shoulder press, rows, and other exercises like that. I would suggest 3 exercises per muscle group to start. Pick 2 different ones a day. I go with Mon - chest and tri's, wed - back and bi's, fri - legs and abs. I can only work out 3 days a week, if you can find time for five, do one or 2 muscles groups a day and add some cardio in afterwards!

Just a warning to you dowd48. Once you start resistance training - you may actually find an initial increase in weight and your size. (I gained in both areas the first 2 weeks, and then started to see a dramatic drop) Good luck!
