I wanted to see if someone knew the steps to measure your own body fat and what tool I would need, where to get it. I wish I would have done this six months ago when I started working out but I figure now would be a good time to start.

You would need to have a caliper to truly measure it. If you want to just get a general idea you can enter your measurements on mybodycomp.com. It's not as accurate as being measured by a caliper, but can give you at least a range.

Again can someone tell me where to buy this caliper and how to measure my body fat?

You can use the site amy suggested or order some calipers from here:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bdymsr.htm
Not sure on the accuracy, but it will give you a general idea of which way you are going.

With the calipers, though, as with any method, you need to be consistent... the same person measuring all the time... otherwise it may throw numbers off if they measure in a slightly different spot.

You can buy calipers where you buy weights and equipment most of the time. You could also thank people when they answer your question instead of petulantly asking again.

Thanks Charlie. Glad you said it.
jt, petulantly means that you acted irritated or anoyed. A petunia is the flower you are thinking of.
Good luck with your calipers. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when you try to measure the fat inches on the back of your own arm.

I think im pretty fly too amy. Thank you. And from your pictures, I hope you have those twins soon.
Seriously though, thanks for the real advice above, I should learn to use the calipers anyways because I don't want to lose weight but lowering my bodyfat percentage would be a good goal. I'm 6'5, 237 (Down from 265 6 months ago) so I've done all the weight loss I need to do.
