using weights in ab workouts

should i use weights when doing ab workouts such as crunches, leg raises, and seated twists.

You could, to make the muscles bigger. I usually reccomend not using them. You do not want to over do it on the abs without working out the lower back. Your own bodies resistance should be enough.

If it gets to the point where your ab routine feels ineffectual, then add some very light weights. You still want to stick in a higher rep range. I usually use a really light plate when doing upper body crunches, as well as obliques. I don't use any weight for lower ab movements.
