I am a very active individual (running and weight training mostly). I am having a lot of difficulty shedding 5 pounds as my body has been at the same weight for about 4 years. I can't possibly add any more cardio to my workout due to time constraints. I usally eat very well and try to eat every 2-3 hours. My only weakness food is a few gummi candies once and a while. Any thoughts on what others have done to tackle this plateau phase??

Plateau is exactly the right word. The "last 5 lbs." are always the hardest. Your body does all it can to hold on to it. You sound like you are doing what needs to be done. Do not make any drastic changes. It will come off...

Maybe you should try HIIT (read the article in here)
This can help. ALso try cycling your carbs.

Yes, HIIT cardio is a great addition. It will stimulate the fat burning process...

maybe doing an ab workout about twice a week will influence weightloss in the ab area...or if not already, start a weightlifting program which will also in the future lead to a higher matabolsim

Try light some cardio first thing in the morning before you eat breakfast. That always works for me. I do it three times a week when I see that I'm starting to put on weight. I've also tried doing an extreme low carb/high protein diet for two-three days and then one day of normal eating, then two-three days of low carbs/high protein again. This tricks the body into thinking it's getting the same amount of calories as always and keeps your metabolism working at the same level while helping shed fat.
