I am going to enter my first fitness competition in August. I am very excited but want to lose another 10 pounds before I do this. I am very excited because Aaron and Brandy Maddron are going to be here and we don't get many people from the States to come visit us here in Okinawa. If anyone has any advice for me before the competition, I would love to here from you.

Yes get on the diet right now!!!!! Don't loose more than 1-2lbs weekly. Find your posing suit. Start to pose daily. Find your choose, make up, tan, music etc etc

What's your diet and training right now?

You are going on a great journey there, it's tough but it's worth it.

Right now my diet consists of mostly protein... lots of chicken and tuna, vegetables and very little carbs. I weight train 6 days per week (1-11/2 hours) and cardio 6 days per week (30-60 min). What are some good web-sites for posing suits cause we don't have anything here on base. I have been tanning pretty good so hopefully we get some good weather ( I am not able to go to a salon)... Things over here are a bit different, especially since I don't speak the language to do a lot of stuff in the civilian community. Thanks for the advice.

What's your body fat %?

No, natural tanning is not enough, you need a product like pro tan or something like that. You also need to work on your free posing and choose the music etc now.

When you cut down your calorie intake then maybe it'll be a good idea to cut down your weight training as well to 3-4 times weekly, but then make them more intense. Cardio is okey, keep the HIIT for the last month (if you still need to drop fat).
You'll need more sleep and forget all about late night partying since you'll simply be too tired to do that (and you need the energy for training).

You eat fruits or milk products?

Good advice Nina....also want to warn you on the cardio. Do the lower level. Let your diet do alot of the work right now...you can go to the higher level of cardio a little later as your "ace in the hole" if you need to lean out more in the last 4 weeks.

Things are going great. I have lost about 4 lbs, so I am on my way with that goal. I go to see my personal trainer in about 1 1/2 weeks. He will take my body fat % and analyze my nutritional and exercise program. He is hpoing to get me to 7.4% by mid July so I have been working hard. I found a tanning salon. It is a bit of a drive but I go 3x weekly. I have changed my cardio routine. I only do cardio 3x week and fat burn 3x week, so hopefully I will meet my goals. I am pretty excited. Thank for all the help and I will post a new pic once I do the competition or around the time of the competition if I am unable to participate.....

Now why should you be unable to participate?!!!!

About the fat % it's quite funny (I talked with Leslie about this before) Here in Europe we don't need to get down our fat that much (we're still talking about fitness or figure comp, right?!!!) Most of the girls here are around 10-12%!!!
For me 7.4% is way too low (and your period will risk stopping) Anyway, if that's the way it is in the States then you better follow the rules.

How's your typical diet?

My typical diet goes something like this with some variations of course:

I wake up about 5 am, do some cardio for abou 45 min

breakfast- oatmeal, eggwhite omelet, or boiled egg white; fruit; milk or water

snack- protein shake or some tuna w/wheat crakers

lunch- workout then I have a protein shake

snack- usually tuna or grilled chicken

dinner- something with chicken; vegetables; some rice or noodles

snack- fruit, protein shake or some boiled egg whites.

that is usually a typical day for me. I try to keep my protein at 120-130 grams, low carbs, and low fat.

I use about three egg whites, mix a little pepper and add a slice of cheese then top it with salsa. I actually prefer just the egg white vice the whole egg. It makes it fluffy and light. You can also add veggies but in the morning I am kinda time consumed.
