Hi,
I am 26 yrs old Male & have been doing weight training since last 4 years. I have a decent body shape however i am not able to gain 6 Packs in my Abs or you can say that am not able to shape up my Abs. I have been doing only situps for my abs since long however i don't think that the results are even satisfactory..
Can any expert out there guide me about shaping up my Abs- Pls ?? Thanks.

Abs are all about body fat, which boils down to diet. You can do a billion sit ups and will never see your abs if you're not eating right.

Once you do start eating right to lose body fat then you'll need to do more than just sit-ups as well. Leg raises, seated twists, landmines....etc. Work your obliques as well as the upper and lower portions of your abs.

Run, eat right, and continue lifting. For your abs work them for about 8-10 mins 2-3 days a week. Use leg raises and try to move your legs to the left and right while going down. Doing this will get the obliques..keep doing this and it will work!

Maybe I'm just not visualizing this correctly. I'm thinking that in order for you to work your obliques by swinging your legs left and right while lowering them, you would have to make it a pretty significant movement to the side. Couldn't this be very dangerous for the lower back? Help me understand.

it's all about diet.
Get rid of fruit juice and soda.
Drink lots of water
eat atleast 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight ( evenly spread out in each meal)
eat 5-6 moderate size meals a day (every 2-3 hours)
get enough fibre in your diet
eat some healthy fats ( flax seed oil, fish oil, omega 3's)
eat fruits and veggies
don't eat fruit at night, better to be consumed during the morning or mid-day
don't eat too much carbs at night in general
don't eat enriched grains such as white bread, white rice, regular pasta...aim for whole wheat variety, don't eat too much dairy products either especially not a night

You will not see your abs unless you have atleast 10% body fat. For those guys you see with chiseled abs, they prolly are closer to 8-9 % bf. Work out hard, eat right, and do cardio.
