I train at Fitness Express - a small chain, mostly on the east coast. No frills but everything you need to get it done.

when i was powerlifting, i trained at a local gym owned by George Eiferman. damn, was it a sweat shop... i loved it!! it was more like a torture chamber from the spanish inquisition. but that was a real gym. unfortunately, today spas are more popular; there are very few gyms left in the world. its a good thing i dont compete anymore: i dont know how in the hell i would be able to concentrate with all of that testosterone-crashing "music" and loud neon all around me!
just my opinion.............michael

Well I have this small very nice gym...... No neon and no Britney Spears music, but nice people talking and training.
I have a big sauna and steam room and it has always amazed me to see how different the people are BEFORE and AFTER using those things...... I mean they all get soooooooo quiet lol

I can proudly say that it's MY gym since I'm one of the owners, but the very best thing is how cool, friendly and nice people are when training here (I bet they are different elsewhere).
People feel good here, and when they are happy, well then I'm the most happy one!

We'll all have to visit you in France someday, Nina...just to check out your gym. It does sound like a very nice and friendly place to work out. BTW, what kind of music do you play in the gym?
