After reading a bit i decided to try HIIT cardio all i can say is OUCH that was hell. That gripe out of the way  Every thing i read says 30min at 80% of max HR 3 times a week is optimal for cardio vascular health.
i was done with the HIIT in 20 minutes and looking at my motitor average for those 20 minutes my avg heart rate was 114 not even into the fat burn zone. Is HIIT enough to improve and maintain CV health?
yeah, but what I'm curious about; is HIIT enough to improve CV health if my average HR during the session doesn't hit 80% of MHR? That being said my HR does hit better than 80% during the increase cycle but comes back down in short order (proud of that, couldn't have said that 6 mos ago )
Maybe I'm asking it the wrong way. Does the cardio CV benefit come drom hitting the target OR maintaining the target? If the benefit is hitting it, then no problem but if its maintaining it then thats a different story
