You need to take a week off. Not just a deload. Your last RE Upper Post shows no hostility. In fact, you cited progress. Your Effort for today shows that you are getting pissed off and made poor decisions. Take the week off, enjoy your Christmas and think about how you are going to kick ass in your next meet. By the time a week is up you will be kicking yourself in the head waiting to get back to training.

On a positive note, at least we learned that we should aways buy shorter toilets.

I knew I was overtrained before I went in. I just wanted to murder myself before the time off. It worked.

Yeah, I am paying for it today. I am not hurt, but it was a bad idea and my shoulders don't feel happy right now. Live and learn.

I will be paying much closer attention to how feel during this pre-meet cycle. Over training isn't an option. I can hear my body, I just don't always listen to it.

You do toilet squats too? I prefer American Standard toilets. They are very robust and can handle a large load. Pun intended.

Happy Holidays. I am out for next five days. I may have some sleeping or eating PRs, but no lifting PRs, unless you count 12 oz curls.

Back in the gym yesterday. I still feel week. This week is still just a fuck around week, so I don't really care. My strength better be back next week or I am going to be pissed.

Squat.

Some Stuff
315x1
365x1
390x1
430x0 whatever, I really wanted a squat pr before I started training for the meet, but its not going to happen.
385x1

Bench
135x3
185x3
225x2 - Blah. All the rep work that I have been doing slightly rotated my right shoulder forward. My Dad is a chiropractor, so had him work on it while I was home. It feels better, but I am going to have to do a lot of prehab/rehab work these coming weeks.

Tri-Push downs
100x20
120x15
140x10

Chest-Supported Rows
2 plates x15
4 plates x10
4 plates + 2 quarters x2x8

Box Squats
225x3
275x3
315x3
365x1
365x0 - Blah...I don't know what I was doing. I just wanted to move something heavy.
Easy Bar Curls

80x4x8

DONE!!

I don't plan on doing any ME work for the rest of the week. Maybe some heavy triples, but mostly some rep work to get muscles ready for a beating.

Notes...Santa brought me some blue bands for Christmas. Next Monday starts meet training.

185x3
225x1
260x1
280x1 5lb PR
255x2 10lb Rep PR
255x1
255x1

Finally, I am feeling good again.

I use the seated cable row with a rope attachment, but I sit on the floor behind the bench.

DE Lower

Box Squat - Strait weight

45x??
95x2x5
135x2
185x2
225x2
245x8x2

Something clicked today. I now complete understand the whole keeping your elbows forward thing. The funny thing is that my problem was not keeping my elbows forward. It was how I was griping the bar. Apparently my hands were rotated too far back. This caused me to cock my wrists real bad and I think I was keeping my elbows back to relieve some of the stress. Today, I rotated my hands so that my fingers were more toward the floor and my wrist weren't cocked back as much. What do you know...those elbows just came forward by them selves. I felt much tighter.

Speed-Pulls
345x10x1 - These felt great. I might up the weight a little. My grip was all fucked up from Wednesday's DB rows. Apparently, I haven't been holding on to heavy shit lately. Even today, it hurt to make a fist and every movement of my wrist made me very aware of my forearms.

I think that speed-pulls are one of my indicator lifts. Every time they feel light, I am usually good for a big pull.

SLDLs
245x5x8

Ab-Pulldowns
115x15
120x15
125x15 - serious ab pump.

Just as a note. I need to be more cautious of how much lower back stuff I am doing. I pretty sure my lack of a Squat PR has been because my lower back has been fried.

DONE!! Good day...learned some stuff.

DE Upper

Bench - Strait Weight
45x20
95x2x5
135x3
155x8x3

I really worked on technique today. I haven't quite mastered leg drive yet. I tend to push off my toes, but something clicked today. I finally understand pushing into your upper back. I was definitely pushing strait up before and wasn't on my heals. Today felt great. I was able to really drive into my upper back with my heals. I made great strides in my setup today. Needless to say, I am very pleased. That's two breakthroughs this week.

Close Grip 3-Board
155x5
185x5
205x5
225x4 - might have had 5 but it would have been sloppy.

Pull-Ups
BW+45x3
BW+25x5
BWx10
BW+25x5
BWx7

Not really sure what I was doing there.

DB Cleans
25x3x15

DONE!!!
