I was wondering what the "Proper" way is the "engage" your abs during a workout. Squats, Lunges, etc. Do you just tighten your stomach muscles as you do the exercise?
Think of them as a stabilizing girdle around your waist, front and back. Pull in but not locked so tight that you can't breath. You can contract them for extra pushing power on some exercises.
