Cardio and Weight training?

I am a lean 5'10" male of about 170 pounds and am looking to gain some muscle mass, just enough to look toned and not BIG. I also am interested in getting some cardio in to get the blood flowing and the heart pumping for health reasons. Is combining cardio and lifting counterproductive for my goals?

yup, for the most part a lot of cardio will cut down on muscle growth.
