I plan to run a 1/2 marathon Memorial Day weekend, this will be my first. I'm about to start the 12 week training next week...any advice?? I'm a bit nervous, I hope my body will handle it.

I have run a couple half marathons and am currently training for a full marathon in may. I highly suggested buying the book " THe Complete book of running for women" by claire kowalchik. It has been a great help for me. THe training schedules are for anything from 5k to a full marathon. They are split into 3 different schedules so it depends how hard you want to train.
I purchased mine off of amazon.
Hope that helps. Good luck and don't be nervous, a half marathon is totally doable! If you can run 10 miles comfortably you can run then half no prob. That's what I figure anyways!

halhigdon.com is a pretty good site to look at.
Concentration on proper hydration, and energy stores when doing longer runs though.
Good shoes.......
