you mean 17 and under? 19 and under? any age group? weight class? what federation?

you're very strong for you age and most likely you would do well in your age category....but you would get annihilated in an adult strongmen contest ...esp with open weight classes...where the numbers are almost double what you're doing....

Anyone is strong enough to compete, but to compete in the WSM you have to be a national champion in USSF.

I suggest you check out nastrongmaninc.com for contests in your area. The season is coming up, and if those are your true numbers, then you would be competitive in teen nationals at the 230lb weight class. I'm prone to doubt some of those numbers because not only are 90% of internet number exaggerated, but some of them seem off. No way your military press should be close to your bench, not even for a strongman. My jerk is right around my bench, and I don't even train the bench press out of powerlifting season.

most of the teen weights are pretty easy.

Don't worry about a weak bench, strongmen don't need it anyways. I only start training bench a few weeks out from a powerlifting meet.

I suggest getting out of the weight room tho.....they don't do many barbell lifts in strong man.

Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror "toned" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack!

Don't talk to me, only thing that should be moving is the bar.

agreed, i have no idea how your military press could be in the same ball park as your bench press - it doesn't make much sense. i usually see military numbers around...75-80% of bench numbers.

Quoting from bigandrew:

=============

And yet most competitors spend 3-4 days in the weight room and only 1-2 days training events.

See an ART practioner about your pectoralis tendon. A tightness here can lead to impingement down the road, which can lead to anterior instability. Eventually it will hurt to incline press, then to overhead press and lateral raise.
Where on this chart does it hurt? http://www.aafp.org/afp/980215ap/fong_f1a.gif

Also, that's not a military press. A military press is a standing lift, done with the weight starting at a dead stop at the rack position (taken out of a squat rack or off stands) and then pressed without leg drive to the lockout overhead position. If you only "go down" to a set position, this infers you are starting with the weight overhead. Is this your seated overhead press?

He does, but strongman is a strength sport, and can not be practiced as often as many other sports.

Most competitors will start specialty training for a meet 1 month out and 1 day a week. That's 4 sessions.

Since most meets aren't for another 3-4 months, he has more than enough time to prepare.

Beginner to pro. Strongman just doesn't have that strong a technical aspect to it, there is no need to devote hours of time to technique work. Besides, putting to much into the events would burn you out very quickly.
