I'm stationed in Afghanistan at a small base. Our chow hall is worse than McDonalds! Hamburgers, frenh fries, etc. I have been stying away from the crap and living on canned tuna, protien shakes, fruits, and whatever vegatables they may have. I have been doing ok on my protien intake but everything else is falling a bit below. Fats, carbs and calories. My buddy turned my onto netgrocer.com and I was wondering if there was any foods that anyone could suggest that I order. Something that I don't need a whole kitchen to prepare. I have a microwave and thats about it. I'm falling way behind on my carb intake and my calorie intake and my fat intake is just a bit behind. Looking for something high in carbs/calories low in fat...I guess. Thank God this place has a kick ass gym! Any help would be appreciated!!!

Oat's for 1 will get you up there, 1 Cup of Quick Oats is 300 Calories and 54 Cabs with 6 grams of Fat! ShopRite Quick Oats is on that site you have!
Also from that site I would go with Success Boil In Bag Brown Rice, Minute Brown Rice Instant, Whole Grain, Betty Crocker Potato Buds, Fantastic Black Beans Instant Mix, Peas, maybe some meat and bean Chilli.

vacuum packed sweet potatoes/yams, order some olive oil to supplement with or some flax or fish oil capsules, Uncle ben's now makes microwaveable packets of rice - you just heat and eat right out of the package and they don't need to be stored in a refrigerator.
Any type of canned bean - you can eat them cold with a little vinagrette, or mixed with tuna as a salad (I like tuna and kidney beans), garbanzo beans..split pea soup (healthy choice or lower sodium version)..
Trail mix - nuts and dried fruits, will bring your calories up fast... nuts will provide you with some good fat.
Good luck!

Good info. But what the hell is Flax or fish oil capsules and what are they used for? Trail mix is good as we have bags of them at the chow hall. How about bacon? I have 3 pieces at breakfast every morning with peanut butter on a blueberry bagle. I also have oatmeal and 3 hard boiled egg whites and a banana. How about yogurt? They have some here but i can't read the lable as it is written in arabic. Are all yogurt cups good?

Canadian Bacon is Great but the others stuff is really bad!
Yogurt is good!
Also you can eat 1 whole Egg along with the Egg Whites!
If the Peanut Butter isn't Natural Peanut Butter I wouldn't eat it!
Fish and Flax is Good Fats, the Omegas with Fish Oil being the best but I wouldn't take it if it's not Enteric Coated or you'll be having Fish Burps that are God Awful!

All good stuff so far. Another question. I started eating plain oatmeal with no sugar or anything. I usually mix a banana in for taste. Can I eat 1 serving 3 times a day? Is that ok or too much? How about the blueberry bagle? Sometimes I eat 2-3 of those a day because the only other bread they have is white bread that is stale. Thanks for the help so far. PLEASE anyone with input I'd love to hear! The crappy little PX here ran out of tuna and I'm also waiting on my protien mix to show up and as I am fresh out. So any info would help. Thanks.
