It's the same as any other cardio 7 days a week...it will wear you out eventually. When I swam competetively in high school we trained 2 hours a day on week days(one of those spent strictly in the gym on the weights)and 3 hours on Sat.Rest on Sunday.Your body needs some time to rest...no matter your exercise!:)

That sounds fine...25 laps is really just a warm up so no problem there..keep it a nice relaxed swim.Try different strokes...the butterfly is amazing for the shoulders.Have fun with it...I always adored swimming...hitting that wall a tenth of a second faster than the guy next to you..fabulous!:)

I don't know where you swim...do they have one of those HUGE clocks you can see from the water as your swimming that counts your time down??I think typically it is 1 min close to full exertion 1 minute slower for 20 min,if not you could just apply the same theory..swim as fast as you can go for a lap then take it easy for a lap...you can change it around however it feels more comfortable for you..2 laps fast 3 slow..whatever you want.It will surely build your endurance.Look at any trained swimmers body, beautiful physiques.

hang on to the side of the pool and just kick...great cardio workout PLUS...it will help you get your form right...really concentrate on your heels barely breaking the surface of the water, focus on a real tight scissor kick...and practice your breathing, keep your head almost in the water when you turn your head to breathe...takes time to learn, but will drastically bring down your time. Are you competeing with your school...or is this just for fun and exercise?
