just a general question about protein on off days. Should my protein consumption on off days be just as much as when i'm working out? I'm 5'10, 175 and I get at least 1g of protein per lb on work out days, but on rest days, it's usually less (mainly because i don't take in my protein shakes during these days). So yea, keep the protein just as high on workout days and rest days or no?

Eat the same way on off days. The idea is to get your body accustomed to being fed so it doesn't hold on to fat. If you eat less, your body thinks you're going to starve it so it stores fat. It's a metabolic thang.

ON off days for sure be hypercaloric if you are trying to gain. You do not grow in the gym, you grow when resting.
