hm today is my rest day and i dont lift any weights

i should do cardio and keep a good diet right?

You should keep a good diet regardless if it is lifting day or not. Is cardio needed to achieve your goals? If so then non lifting days are the best for cardio. Good Luck !

hm so for swimming like first 5 laps i do it at a decnet pace then the next 5 i do full speed or as fast as i can and then repeat?

Even moreso about diet. Cardio is simply an extension of diet.
