i cant seen to do them no matter how hard i try...i build arm muscle and practice them any suggestions?

Try doing them as a negative first. Start with your chin at the bar and let yourself down as slow as possible to a straight arm hang. Do as many of these as you can up to 5 or 8 for a set, even try to do a couple of sets if you like, but by the time you get to doing multiple sets like this you should be able to do some actual chin ups.

Negatives are great way to gain strength....work to being able to do a single...then increase volume....work up to being able to do 5-10 singles....with 30-90 sec rest...then work on being able to do up to 3-5 reps.....after u can do 5 reps......start adding weight....

wrestler has a great post stickied at the top of one of the forus....either advanced bodybuilding or general weightlifting...look for it...he lists progressions
