So, my girlfriend and I just took a kickboxing class and it kicked our butts! She wants to know what sort of things we could eat or supplements we could take prior to the workout to give us an extra boost during the class. Thanks!

Franco Columbo advocated eating a bowl of fruit 1/2 - 1 hour before training for the blood sugar boost. you may want to try that, along with a protein shake. You want something with some fast carbs and fiber for sustained energy and the protein will help prevent muscle breakdown. Some people swear by taking amino acid supplements before any type of training to help prevent muscle tear down.

If I need extra energy i will sometimes take a fat-burner type supplement - they usually have caffiene and/or other stimulants that help amp you up for a workout. Just be sure that you don't have any health issues that might contradict the use of such a product.

You should feel less worked over by kickboxing as your endurance for it increases.
