Naw, none of it is worth a crap anyway. j/king.....
You are fine. The mega men is simply an overrated vitamin, Celltech is a bunch of sugar(oh yeah, with some creatine), and Nitro Tech is overpriced protein. Hydroxycut doesn't do anything...so you are fine. -------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |

I agree...I say save yourself the money, and put it towards something worth while. Weightlifting, cardio and a good diet is all you really need to get the results you want. You are 18, so you still have a lot of growing to do. Work hard at the gym, eat clean, and you will notice with time that you will gain the results you want! Good luck!

lol, nice breakdown bb1...
just focus on the basics salazar...supp are overrated until you been at it for a few years and got everything else right... I'd go for coolaid/lemonade mix+creatine , cheap protein powder, generic multivitamin... are u trying to gain mass? loss body fat? skip hydroxycut....if u are dieting caffeine+aspirin+fish oil supp are better....if u are gaining caffeine+aspirin can help u improve ur max workouts a bit...and give u a bit of more energy...

Menace3000, my point is I think the products do work.

and that is based cuz '1-2' of your friends look 'buff'?
first off creatine is one of the most effective supplements on the market...however I suggest generics over brand names....to save money...secondly as newbie....you dont need it....give yourself 2-3 years before trying it... rule of thumb....GNC/Muscle Tech products are COMPLETE RIPOFF.....

My post was mis-intrepeted by you. If you read it closely, I am not knocking creatine as bad, I am knocking they TYPE he bought. Cell tech is 75 gr. of sugar per serving I believe.

salazar55555- Your friends say they got great results from taking those supplements, but it may be other factors that gave them the results they got. It might be their age, their diet or time spent in the gym, even genetics. Your friends may be looking good right now, but you do not know the direct cause of their results. Unless they were actaully doing some kind of controlled experiment, you cannot say that the supplements were the cause of their results.
Personally, I think that if taking certain supplements gives you results, the results would only be minimal, and not worth the money. However I do admit, i take a protein supplement, only because I know some days I dont think i get the recommeded intake |

slorbets makes an excellent point. It should be emboldened in everyones head. The supplement companies love guys like you and your friends, these keep them thriving and in the cash. When beginning, if your diet is good, T levels are normal, and a naturally healthy guy to begin with, you are going to make great gains anyway. So many folks start taking creatine, etc. due to hype so early on and if they are making gains, attribute it all to the supplements. When in fact it is what they would do anyway. There is no supplement, creatine included that will make anyone hyyyoooogggeee! I mean anyone. They are but an assistance with sound diet and training, you need to read my post at the top of this section.." a word on supplements".-------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |

salazar55555- Keep up the hard work at the gym and eat well. I dont believe supplements make much of a difference, if any. However I do not want to discourage you from reaching your goals. I would rather see yourself saving the money, and using it on better things. If you are dedicated and work hard, give it time and i am sure you will be happy with the results! Good luck!

I just had an incredible idea for a new supplement. Moti-muscle...it's a motivational supplement..helps you wake up in the morning...helps you get dressed early before the sun comes up and helps you drive to the gym. Then in 3 months I'll make Moti-muscle XTreme...this one gives you the motivation to lift twice the weight and get the hot chick in the gym. I'll be rich!!
Seriously salazar. If you look at where you are right now and where you want to be in a year...consider that supplements will only get you about 5% of that progress. Is that worth the hundreds...maybe even thousands you'll spend between now a then? Look at supplements in this order...Multivitamin, Creatine, and Protein (the reason this one isn't 2nd is because you need to try to get sufficient amounts through your diet). That's about all you need. |
