A great source of protein is in those little bean pods called edamame. Very low in fat and 13 grams of protein/serving. In US, you can get at Fresh Fields, Safeway etc. either in or out of the pod. Really tasty too!

That is wonderful. I am always searching for new protein packed foods to eat. Thanks for the tip.

Edamame is a type of soybean--lot of Japanese restaurants serve it as appetizers. Very low in fat (trace) and high in protein. Not as fattening as soybeans. In the shell, they look like green beans. You boil them in water with a little salt and open them up to get to the bean. Or you can buy them already "shelled." Great snack or salad topping. They are found (if available) in the frozen food section. Now, they're not as good as Edam cheese...of course!
