So yeah im gettin a rowing machine tomorrow....
this must sound like a really stupid question, but is rowing a good form of cardio....or is it more of a resistance based exersise?
Also, i dont have any means of doing exersises to widen my back and help produce a bit of a v-taper. Will the rowing machine help?

If you can do it for a semi-extended period of time, or if you can do a high intensity/shorter amount of time type of workout with it then it can be used as a form of cardio.
If you can adjust the level of resistance on it, and set it high then it could help you produce your desired back results. You will still need to incorporate that with a regular back workout if you truly want to achieve those results, but it definitely wouldn't hurt.

Yes it's a very good form of cardio...u can do different variations....HIIT can be very good.....
No you probably cant get much results in terms of muscle/strength gains....

It is the best form of cardio. You are using most of the major muscle groups in your body to be successful at rowing. It does place a considerable demand on the muscular system. There are more details, but it is good for both. (not a rrplacement for weights).

Rowing is a good form of cario as long as you have your technique correct, you should be snapping your hands forward before your knees begin to rise and you begin to pull your body back. Also remain sitting up straight, this will help your lower back muscles, but not your upper.

Is anyone familiar with the rowing attachment on the bowflex....if so is it good and some tips on correct form are needed because I can't quite get the hang of it....:)
