heres my routine
5 mins warm up on 4.8 km/h
30 secs on 11.3 km/h
30 secs on 4.8 km/h
do this for 18 mins
5 mins on 4.8 km/h cool off
is this right and considered HIIT? and is 18 mins enough?

Are you "feeling" it after that time? 18 minutes is fine...
Now the question is, how is your diet to compliment your training? I imagine by doing HIIT your object is to lose fat.
Couple good diet with this, and you will see results.
Don't forget to do resistance training. Cardio is not the do all end all of fat loss. Besides, you want that lean hard look don't you?

yes i do feel it i have to mentally prepare myself for what im going to go through!
i am also doing resistance training ..and my diet is real clean...im going to carry on as my aim is to lose some weight/get lean by end of may.so far its been a jurney to find what works for me...this seems to be working early days yet its only been 2 weeks!
is it ok to do HIIT 3 days a week and 2days of normal cardio? which makes 5 days of cardio a week? just wondering.
thank you for your input

that looks fine...
5 days is a bit on the high side but doable..
You should still lift weight 2-3 times a week...doing big exercises for the whole body....if you choose to do cardio do so after lifting....

Menace is right in this sense....I was going to point this out. You are going full out right now with your exercise. While yes, it should very well be working, you are expending alot of energy, you are going to soon reach a point where you are going to "stall" out. In other words, you will not be able to expend more energy, and all is going to have to come from diet. This is a mistake many new folks make, in their "initial drive" they go all out. Then when the losses slow, they will post that they are not losing anymore, and what to do...they are eating clean, etc. I would adjust my diet right now, let it do some work, then when that slows down, up your energy expenditure. You cannot turn to calories forever. Hope that makes sense to you?
