I'm in the 2nd week of my 8 week (fat loss & toning) exercise program. After reading a lot of threads about cardio and weights I'm confused about something. One thing I read over and over is that cardio and weights should be done on different days. (Example: Monday = weights; Tuesday = cardio; Wednesday = weights; Thursday = cardio; Friday = weights) The 5 day a week program I selected tells me to do 25 min. cardio after my weights on every one of the 5 days. Are the programs on this site not correct? My goal is to lose about 30-40 lbs, I'm 5'7" and 201lbs, I do want to build a lot of muscle so I assume I need to lose at least 20lbs of FAT. I am following a good diet plan as well! Am I on the right track with what I'm doing? Feel free to check out my training log for more info. Thank you:)

Manny, cardio and weights on the same day are fine, just seperate them, don't do them back to back, try one in the am and the other in the pm.

mannymatser - i differ in program design opinion than the workouts generated by this site - you won't do any ahrm to your plan by doing cardio after lifting at thisd point, but it would be more productive to lift really heavy one day and do cardio the next. i think if you choose the days you want to lift when signing up for a program and do the cardio on the days you don't lift it will be fine. Does that make sense? So, go in and pick the program and sign up for maybe M,W,F for the days you can workout, then do cardio T, Th, Sat.

Thanks guys, I think I will change my workout routine again and do the M, W, F weights and cardio on T & Th, since there is no way that I'd be able to work out twice a day. At least not at this point in time:)
