Ok, this may be a very stupid question or one that may have been asked a million times.
I want to tone and not bulk up so do I do high reps low weight or low reps and high weight?

Many thanks

Hi Jo and welcome to FT. It is a common misconception that women will get bulky if they lift weights. This is very untrue. We just don't have the testosterone needed to build big muscles. It is even difficult for men to really bulk up without the use of suppliments. If you're looking to look lean and firm, try doing 3 sets of 8-12 reps focussing on compound moves for upper and lower body. Chose a weight that is challenging for the last few reps of each set. Compound moves are things like squats, lunges, chest presses, dead lifts, rows, push ups, pull ups etc., anything that uses multiple muscles. Also, remember that diet is also key.

Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.
