Maybe, I am different from most people, but I find that nowadays i excerise because I love to. I don't even really care about the way my body looks anymore(even though I am really muscular). I love the challege of it all. I love to plan my next workoout around a goal such as dumbell presses of 320 or doing pullups and pushups with 100 pound vest on. That makes me really excited. It seems like whatever my body turns out to look like is just a byproduct of my love for excersing.

How many of you guys have this love?

I am the same way.
However, I also spend hours a day researching and planning my training, as well as studying kinesiology and physiology. So, I like to compete just to have a reason for justifying spending so much time on it. But yes, even if I didn't have something to train "for", I would still train.

Pain is only temporary, it is in your mind. If you can still walk, then you can still run.

Ditto.
I love challenging my body in doing new and more intense things. For example, I recently started running marathons just to say that I have done it, even though I hate running.

I don't exercise for my looks. I am plenty beautiful as anyone can see from my pictures. I exercise so I can do what I want until I shuffle off this mortal coil. Outlifting guys half my age is kind of cool but being able to push my boat off a mudflat or unload 40 sheets of plywood is the name of the game. If you pups stick with the fitness thing you'll be glad you did when you see the north side of 50.

There is something therapeutic about it these days.

Strength is good.

That's exactly how I feel. It's like nothing else matters when I'm workingout in the park or the gym. I am in whole different zone. All my problems seem to go away for that 1 hour.
