The Gym I go to doesn't have a standing calf-raise machine. However we do have the 'seated calf-raise' machine.
Till now I used to do the Reverse calf-raises on my door's footstep, but I dont know what alternatives to use for the 'standing calf-raise' exercise.

Does it have a smith machine....just put a few 45s under the bar.....and stand on them and do your calf raises there.
or you can stack a few 45s up, hold on to the side of a bench rack or squat rack....hold a db on the side your doing the one legged calf raise and do one leg at a time.
--------------
Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror \"toned\" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack!
People don\'t reach thier true potental, only those who seek it.

gee thanks bigandrew for your help. i will try that next time
i have seen a guy in the gym standing, holding a dumbbell in each hand, and then upping on his toes (lifting the ball of the feet up). is that similar to standing calf-raise?

Or if your gym has an aerobic step in there to stand on with the balls of your feet, so your heels are off like a standing calf raise.
