Whey Protein for a beginner???

Okay I am currently in the Weight Loss/Definition program here at ft. I have tried getting this question answered by searching in fit buddy under the words "whey protein". However, the post that came up did not answer all of my questions. I am on my 2nd week in the program and it has been about 4 weeks since I first started working out. Should I be using whey protein at this stage. If so how often/when should I be taking it. I can really only afford to take it two times a day with my current budget. If you haven't read my profile you know that my primary goal is to lose weight and tone up, but once that is accomplished I plan to go for some more muscle mass. Any advice will help. Thanks!

i think you just need to look a little harder....i know that there is a post on this topic....you can find it either in the nutrition forum or the supplement one, just do a little lookin around

Whey would be good post workout. Also if needed to fill your required protein needs, but pwo is most necessary.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have decided to go with 20g 1h prior to my workout and 20g immediately following my workout. I saw this suggested in another thread here at ft. Does that sound reasonable?
