ok ive been doing 5 day a week weight training since october, but cant seem my results well for the fat i still carry- but have gotta a bit stronger
Hey im eating flawlessly for the last three weeks- mostly fruits veggies, some carbs, some meat, and now protein shake (and nothing every bad at alL!)- i lost quite a bit of weight- about 7 pounds- just hope it wasn't muslce -moreover i really enjoy eating this way so i can stick to it easy -my current plan- im gonna try adding cardio EVERY morning before eating for about a half an hour (and im still gonna keep up 5 day a week weight training) im probley caring about 25-40 pounds or so of fat still that i wanna lose as fast as possible, then just concentrate on muscle building again. -basically i wanna drop the fat asap and get lean- the results ive gotten are great but make me crave more -how much do you think this cardio plan would speed it up? im gonna alternate HIIT and simple endurance cardio every other day- i have the time and motivation, and the diet down- so why not do more? |

Cardio will help but I'd recommend taking a closer look at your diet. A balanced diet will overcome a lot.

i think my current diet is flawless- i dont put anything bad in whatsoever!
-lots of apples, pears, and bananas, stawberries and pineaplle when i can get them, and salad(no dressing+lots of broccoli) as the centers of every meal -i have 2 tuna wraps(whole wheat) a day, 2 protein shakes, and 8 pieces of shushi a day (when i can get it) -sometimes chicken kabobs/some steak when i can get it thats about all i eat in a day/ combinations of the above -im losing wieght its great! i wanna lose more tho, and faster! so like if i did do my cardio plan everyday how much u think it would speed things up? |

i forgot: main thing that also helped- i ONLY ever eat from the above- 0 tolerance for anything bad- and so far no deviance from it. Im happy eating this way- its very satisfying, and im not even tempted!
-also i find im eating less overall, yet am not hungry basically im eating right, and exercising with weight training 5 days a week- but want to increase rate of fat loss untill i get down to a low body fat%, then i will just continue eating right and weight lifting which should be able to maintain easy. will my cardio plan increase my rate of fat loss to any great extent? what extent would it speed it up? anything else i can do to speed it up? |

i guess no one knew the answer-
if im doing everythign except cardio and succeeding, would cardio speed up success? /how much would it spped it up? -some people say it eats up your muslces and slows it down, others say its the most important thing for body fat loss no definitive answers= those are hard to find |

How many calories/protein/fats/carbs are you eating per day. You could be getting too much or too little which can effect how much you lose weight. Also I heard that more people will answer you if you fill out your profile. You might get some better answers to your questions if you try that. Good luck!

gene...you'll get more responses if you fill out your profile. If we're unable to see your goals or your stats (height/weight/sex) then we're at a loss in giving you any advise.
Personally it sounds like you're not eating enough to rev up your metabolism. With all the activity you're taking on your bodies bound to start burning fat, but only if it knows you're going to feed it enough to sustain itself. Otherwise it'll hold onto every ounce of it. However it sounds like you're barely getting just over a 1000 calories a day...so unless you're 5'0" and weigh about 100 lbs then that's not enough calories for the activity you're doing. The first thing you should do when trying to lose weight is figure out what your maintenance calories are, that's the amount of calories your body needs to maintain your current weight. So after you fill out your profile go to www.fitday.com and track your diet for the next week and see how much you're eating. If it shows you're not eating enough then up your calories a bit and you'll likely see that your body starts burning fat again. I know it doesn't sound like it makes sense, but it works. Once your body says "oh I'm getting more food, so I guess I'll start burning it faster" is when you'll see results. Also the cardio is great, however I would cut the weight training back to about 3 days a week, and maybe cardio 2 days. Good luck! |

sstump was right on the money. I would cut back my weight training to avoid overtraining, and ramp up the cardio a bit with 1-2 days of HIIT. Remember you can have the best foods in the world as your diet, and the quantity of them can make or break your diet. 2-3lbs a week is safe healthy weight loss. good luck and welcome to ft. You will get more responses if you fill out your profile though.

objectively i think im eating enough- i eat whenever im hungry till im not hungry any more, just i eat nothing but good stuff. i feel more fulfilled, than when eating junk, and am very happy on this diet- i could do it indefinitely.
-i think i explained all my goals/ whats going on- honestly i couldnt get the profile thign to work - i think i am losing about the two pounds of weight, and i feel im right on the mony with my diet and exercise- its working great -though i do worry i might be losing a bit muscle mass a bit, i clearly am losing fat which was my # 1 goal from the get go: get down to low body fat %--get rid of the bad, which should and is improving my confidence #2 goal get stronger- im able to lift more and more, which is objectively increasing, slowly but surely #3 goal- look good/muscley/six pack- going well, my abs are getting tons stronger though they are still quite buried, my arms are looking slightly bigger and much more toned ---- sum it up= im on the right track, going well- weight lifting made a good difference, and recently diet is making a big difference --the thing im left to wonder--- would cardio set off the balance? cost me good mass? speed up fat loss? if it would be good how much would it speed things up? i have the time and motivation: i very really could do it everyday, but i dont wanna start cardio if it would be bad. ---- different people have said different things, so i haven't started cardio, i dont wanna risk throwing off these great results |
