I really want to start lifting heavy but sports keep getting in the way. In the spring this year I was wondering if I should try to start lifting heavier when I'm running for 2 hours a day. I would be able to lift before practice on monday, wednessday, and friday. Our track coach is a killer....he likes to run people till they can't go anymore.

So why are you running 2 hours a day? I can't think of a sport that would require that much energy systems work. Unless you mean 2 hours of practice.
I did 5 hours of practice a day while lifting heavy 2 days a week. Keep the volume low and the workouts smart. Learn to listen to your body.

ok thanks. yea we have 2 hours of practice about 20-30 min of warm-ups and the rest of the time is either long distance, sprinting, or interval training.
