Well I've been scanning through the forums and have noticed some great ideas to lose weight and get in better shape. But there are some complications I'm worried about....namely..motivation.

When I run and get winded and run until I can't go any longer and realize I didn't reach my goal I get discouraged and wind up quitting or digging myself into a depression slum that takes me a day or two to get out of.

I need some help to keep myself motivated Can someone help me with some ideas to help keep me on track...I really do want to look better for myself and I know i can do it. Just tired of giving up.

set smaller goals...break each big goal into smaller goals which you can accomplish yet which are still challenging and then build on that....little by little you'll make good gains....

There are also some posts on motivation that you can search for...fairly common topic

As you know, motivation comes from within and no one can really tell you how to get motivated as within each of motivation means different things, just as menace3000 posted his thoughts you nixed them, that is because to you that wouldn't allow you the motivation you need, so you have to have a sit-down with yourself and think of ways you can make the most out of your workouts so you don't get so discouraged. I would start by finding something that you enjoy and that you feel would be appropriate to your goals. It seems you are too hard on yourself and really should be able to set smaller goals, such as suggested above, but if that just doesn't work, dig deep and think about things that might and do the searches suggested, also, maybe someone relates and has made more suggestive comments that are similar to your needs.

Good luck and welcome to FT!
