Wrist curls, reverse wrist curls, and lots of grip work.
Also, one armed pushups are more of a strength builder than regular push ups. They are a form of increasing the resistance, and they teach total body tension and build trunk strength and stability. When you can do a set of 10 with perfect form, then you can tell me they are for show. And I mean perfect form. When you can do this, you should check out some of pavel tsatsouline's books on bodyweight training ("The Naked Warrior").
