Hi my little brother has been working out for about 8 months heavy every 2 days now and really wants a great upperbody he can dumbbell curl already at this age 13 kg each arm i think its impressive but ive heard a few things about stunting your growth he is about 160 cms in height and weighs only at 53kg im curious if this is bad for him to be lifting such heavy weights at a young age he does eat very healthy foods aswell for good nutrition has anyone got any suggestions? im worried.

im only 17 but we just learned at school if you workout to much at that age it will stunt your growth and it isnt all that good for you for many more reasons in the long run

we also learned that working out to much is not that good for your heart because your heart is also a muscleand so are your lungs they also grow while you are working out and my teacher told us about a friend he had that dies because his heart was to big from working out to much

That is a total lie. Only if you take steriods and such tht cause direct harm to you heart. Your teacher is a fool. Your heart and lungs do not grow that way just by workingout. As for 13 being to young here is the key. As long as you do not go to heavy and stick to more compound exercises you are ok.
