I have recently set up a home gym with dumbells and a weight bench. My son, who is eight years old, helped to put everything together and really wants to workout with his dad. I thought that was kinda cool. I have read around that light weight training is ok for young kids. Does anyone know of a simple workout routine that hits the all the major muscle groups? I would only have him do it at the most three times a week using light weights, with at least a day of rest in between.

Stay away from real weight training for a few years. But try to include him. I have my 3 year old doing curls sit ups etc but for him it is a game.
