Well I don't typically post new threads that often, but I was playing around with some dumbbells the other day, and noticed the drastic difference between mentally telling yourself the weight is light, vs. telling yourself how many reps you think you can do/you need to do. Just a small adjustment of your thoughts while lifting, but it makes a BIG difference. That's it. Nothing really special and I guess I always knew this, but worth noting to someone first starting and following a set/rep schedule.

I find the same with running especially on the hills, I run in forested areas so they can be steep, think the strength to where you need it.
Hills are a natural High.

yeah running is easily 85-90% mental from my experience.

We were just talking about that in spin this morning. The mind is the most powerful tool we have. Everything I do starts with a thought and the action follows, so know that I'm powerlifting for my bulking phase, I really have to think myself in heavy lifting and before I know it the weight is up. One of my favorite saying is;
"tell the mind and the body will follow"
